Haiku of Mourning

Cremated smile,
I miss your upward curl
your breathy laughter

__________

Roaring from my limbs
a most visceral sorrow
that you had once quelled.

__________

Veins like tree branches
filled firm, warm, and beating
you ached to stay still.
