I am five hundred miles away
and my heart breaks
every time a little voice says
“Why aren’t you here?”

Ah, something we expats know quite well. I’m glad that I’ve found your blog. 😀

I’m glad you like it!
I see a woman I love for a short time maybe twice a month. She doesn’t know and I can never tell her. ‘So near yet so far’ for me your verse says it all.
That seems like a tough situation, and I’m glad you could relate to my words, even if they are painful.
It is painful sometimes but I have finally realised that real love sometimes requires the strength to let go of something so rare it needs flight and I think in the end I would stifle her and that would be even more painful :-). Besides I find real solace in the hearfelt words of others. You speak from an experience too, so I send my thanks and warmest wishes.
And I send them back to you 🙂
